Julie Valdez
​Julie Valdez, raised in Wilmington, began singing and playing guitar at an early age. 
Her father, Ricardo, a guitarist, exposed her to jazz, blues and bossa nova - while her grandmother, a vocalist, infused the love of singing in Spanish.  She began singing with the Topics in May, 2018. 
She brings to the band her love of all musical genres and blending vocal styles as she has become one of the Topics’ lead and back-up vocalists.
